A person's hometown is the beginning of their life, and the time spent there spreads throughout their entire existence like a thread. The word “糸口” (itoguchi), meaning “the
end of a thread” or “the beginning”, cleverly connects to my work.
My hometown, Shenzhen, is a coastal city with a long shoreline. It is a city where urban development is progressing at an astonishing speed, alongside rich tropical landscapes and diverse flora and fauna. The clash between
humans and nature is always a difficult issue, but as a child, I could do nothing but watch. I want to express this scene from my perspective as a local child.

Bird and FishI/II/III
Oil on Canvas, 2024
In a 20 square meter tank,
A fish dreams of becoming a bird.
One day, when countless dreams come true,
It will rise above the edge of the tank
and soar into the sky.
Surpassing the highest mountain,
The distance from the North Pole
to the South Pole is nothing but a trifle.
Such freedom is what it desires.
